I just recently had my house vinyl sided. I did not want to put any holes in the new siding, but I still wanted to hang a plaque outside on my porch. The mounting hook was an excellent way of hanging it without doing damage to the siding. I just wish it was clear, but I know plastic wouldn't be as strong. After awhile you don't even notice it. My only suggestion would be to try to find the product locally to avoid shipping and handling which could be as much as or more than the product itself.
