this fence has been succesfuly keeping the possums and other creatures out of my Koi pond for some weeks now. The unit was easy to install works as advertised and would probably keep a small dog well away from your protected space. I have been touched by the juice when cleaning the pond and find the shock to be sharp but not painfull and certainly not harmfull. Sort of a a rose thorn sensation.My fence is installed above a 14" tall wire fence as an added protection and reminder.
HERE IT IS JULY 2011 and this product is still working just like new!! Note, the wire cord needs replacing every year or so as the fine wire corrodes and becomes non conductive in spots. I bough a big roll and just put on new when needed. Always check the transformer before you replace it.
