I bought these for our front porch instead of something metal or tied on. They look great with my scarlet begonia (they REALLY do!)but I was concerned about them blowing off of the rail during the spring storms that we get here in middle Tennessee. We've had some serious wind this spring and I never took them down. They never budged! I'm sure it might make a difference if they're positioned somewhere else on the house, but I've been very pleased for my purposes. An added bonus is that you can easily move them indoors if a surprise frost occurs. They'll also easily empty and stack in the shed during the winter.
