Natural 4-Panel Yard Privacy Screen - 30"x60" - Improvements Review

These are beautiful screens that turned an iffy DIY project into a huge success. The wood itself (eucalyptus) is pretty and well-finished, the panels are well-constructed, and the density of the lattice provides a good balance of privacy and airiness. Improvements is a good company to deal with. Delivery was fast (Sunday evening order to Thursday delivery), and if you join the Buyer's Club ($30), you get free shipping on your first order and three $10 coupons toward a future order (a $10 surcharge that's not part of the free shipping is levied because the items are heavy/oversized).
I bought the 30" x 60" version (two 4-panel sets and two single panels). I would have preferred 72" high screens, but the only ones I could find (from other stores) would not have been shipped until late July and even that date looked doubtful. After determining that instead of using the panels as free-standing screens I could attach them, flat, to my deck railings, I realized that I could add 5-1/2" in height by putting them on top of 4" x 6" landscape timbers (stained to match the deck). For now, I have the panels attached to the railing with tiny bungee cords at the bottom and halfway up, but I plan to substitute for the bottom bungees the L-shaped brackets that come with the panels (will attach them to the timbers).
The instructions say the eucalyptus will age well or you can oil it, as you would teak. Judging by how my teak-like deck furniture aged its first summer without treatment and later came to life with a good sanding, staining, and application of spar varnish, I opted to apply a coat of spar varnish to the panels right away. The wood didn't retain its lovely smoothness with the application of the varnish, but I'm hoping the maintenance will be less burdensome.
For others who, like me, may not be that savvy about assembly, two things I didn't realize at first: When installing the rings to the sides (to join panels), I eventually figured out it was better to tighten them past where it was comfortable turning them by hand, which left them a little jiggly; insert a screw driver into the ring and tighten until the fit is snug. Also, the two parts of the hardware you use to join the rings of one panel to the corresponding rings of the adjoining panel come screwed together; I thought Improvements had forgotten to include the screws, which puzzled me, because everything else was so well-packaged. By the way, the panels are prettier than pictured.
