I am using this to discourage the deer from eating my shrubs. It is a pleasant green that does not hide the shrubs from view. It can be cut to length with tin snips. As a matter of fact, the wire might turn out to be a little flimsy. If it doesn't stand up, I will update this review later. Right now it is doing a fine job of protecting the shrubs without hiding them. A four foot high fence will only discourage deer. The shrubs I am protecting are ones the deer think of as second rate. I doubt it would keep them out of Hostas or vegetables. For that, an 8 foot high 5 or 6 wire electric fence will work better.
If you have a dog that is an escape artist, this bends easily enough to curve at the bottom of your regular fence to prevent the dog's digging under. You might even be able to bend it over the top of a fence your dog climbs. That would be a two man project. The other things one person can handle. I pounded 5 foot lengths of rebar into the ground and tied the fencing to that.
